For many years most of ATVs and recreational vehicle operators have not been permitted to use public roads. Starting on July 1, 2015, the province is making changes to permit certain types of vehicles to use the shoulder of public roads and they have implemented safety requirements. Please click the following link to view the Ontario government’s news release on increasing on-road access for off-road and all-terrain vehicles.

Our Ottawa personal injury lawyer has represented victims of ATV and recreational vehicle accidents and we have dealt with complicated insurance coverage disputes that arise from improperly insured off-road vehicles. Victims of ATV and off-road vehicle roll-overs and collisions typically have serious injuries including spinal cord and brain injuries and they require the immediate involvement of a lawyer to ensure that any coverage dispute is managed properly. Accident victims may be unable to return to work for an extended period of time and they may also require assistance in presenting their accident benefits claim and/or disability insurance claim to their car insurance and health insurance companies. We also seek compensation for our client’s pain and suffering and other types of losses that are caused by the accident. If you or a family member has been in an ATV accident or collision our lawyers are here to help and guide you through the maze of insurance claim forms and to ensure that your rights are protected. Our lawyers can meet with the victim or the family of the victim at home or in the hospital if required. Our consultations are free and you will obtain information and an overview of the law in Ontario as it applies to your case.
